In his floaties, Trey is a little fish!
Summer has arrived and we are living it up! I am thoroughly enjoying having Bayley at home this summer and being able to do whatever we want just about whenever we want. Bayley and Kendal have the summer free from dance and Bayley is taking the summer off from swim team, so besides church stuff our schedule is extremely flexible. We have spent most days by the pool for a couple of hours...as it continues to get more hot we have been getting in earlier in the day so that we aren't out in the afternoon heat. It has worked well because by naptime the kids are beat. Other activities the kids have taken advantage of during summer vacation include: camping in our backyard with Jeff, cooking smores by our recently constructed fire pit, enjoying Oxford's brand new library, staying up late just because they can, sleeping over at Grandma and Grandpa "G"'s house, and spending hot summer afternoons in our cool basement playing with their toys! I try to forget sometimes that summer is really only about 9 weeks...Bayley starts back to school August 7th! We still have lots more on our summer to-do list, so we had better keep after it...I don't think you will here my kids complain....they are loving it!
A byproduct of our summer of fun has been a few bumps and bruises. All of the kids have had their share of fire ant bites, falls, and knocks. Bayley had a huge goose egg this week after doing a back dive off the steps and hitting her head and mouth. Trey is currently sporting an ACE bandage on his left foot after jamming his leg on the slide this afternoon. I took him into the doctor this afternoon to have his leg x-rayed, but the doctor was unable to see any break. However, Trey is obviously still in quite a bit of pain and is unwilling to put any pressure on that leg...he sat in one place the entire afternoon...you know it has to be pretty bad to keep my busy 22 month old in one place. We will be watching him very closely and although it is nice to have him in one place for more than one minute, I would much rather him be back busy and healthy! We will keep you posted!

So glad you are having such a good time this summer. It goes by way too fast...it seems like every week is already spoken for!
Thanks to you, our Sunkist Lemonade stand is ordered and on the way. Ever since you posted about it last year I've kept my eye on the sight for 2008 stands and finally got to register for ours. Tripp promised to make us one but with the flooring project still going, I was glad to cross lemonade stand off his list.
I can't wait to join the kiddos in your pool! I'm hoping we'll have time to swim in it while we're there. :)
I love summer ~ looks like the Thornton's do, too!
sounds like summer is off to a great start! It will be so nice not to have any other activities besides spending time together. Its good to have a break!
What fun they are having! We are praying for Trey to get better soon so he can join all the fun!
Love,
MOM G
We hate to hear that about Trey and we know that it's definitely putting a damper on his fun time. Hopefully things will heal up quick!
The nap thing is something we are already struggling with. Spence just wants little cat naps, but he's still a good little boy.
